Taogou is a town in Baqiao District, located in the northeast of Baqiao District, on the south bank of He Sui River, bordering temporary village in the east, heather in the southeast, Guhe in the west, Hesui River in the south and Xincun River in the north. Taogou has a long history. According to legend, the Warring States period was a plain silted by the Yellow River. A few years later, peach trees were planted along the ditches and banks, and there was a large peach forest on the shore. Every spring, peach blossoms bloom for dozens of miles in Fiona Fang, Fiona Fang. It attracted many immigrants to live here and gradually formed a village, which has long been a collection. According to the Records of Suzhou in Guangxu Period of Qing Dynasty, Taogou is 70 miles away from Suzhou City, and Taogou was called Taohua County in ancient times. There is also a folklore that Taogou was Taohua County a long time ago, and later it was withdrawn from the county as a collection. There is a big ditch near the original, and there is a peach tree forest on the ditch, called Taohua Township.

Taogou was originally named "escape ditch" and later changed to "Taogou". According to legend, Guan Yu, the general of the Three Kingdoms, was not from Zhou Pu, but from Cao Zhou. He lost his father when he was a child and lived with his mother. His family was very poor. His mother's family is in Xuzhou, and his uncle is a rich man. One day, Guan Yu's grandmother died, and he followed his mother to his uncle's house to burn paper. After the funeral, my uncle forced my mother to remarry. My uncle hit my mother when she refused. Guan Yu came forward to protect his mother and joined hands with his uncle. Guan Yu was born with divine power, and his uncle was no match for him. Guan Yu killed his uncle in one fell swoop. My uncle's servant reported to the court that the court sent troops to capture Guan Yu. Out of the instinct to escape, Guan Yu fled to the south, followed by officers and men. Running and running, I came to the east of ancient Suzhou, today's Taogou realm. I saw a big ditch inclined to the southeast, and the mountains on both sides stood around. Guan Yu plunged into the ditch without thinking. After another run, a river blocked the way in front of the ditch. There is a big river in front, pursuers behind, and mountains all around. Guan Yu really got into the dead Hu hole. Guan Yu closed his eyes and thought, I'm going to die. At this time, he found a thatched cottage on the left hillside near the ditch, and smoke billowed from the kitchen. Like a pedestrian in the desert, he rushed over.

There is a white-haired old lady in the thatched cottage. When she saw Guan Yu, she said:

"Finally, lie in bed."

Guan Yu is very obedient in bed. The old woman poured a bowl of sorghum rice from the pot on Guan Yu's face, wiped it slowly with her hand and read aloud. She took out a lock of hair prepared in advance from the drawer, stuck it on Guan Yu's lips and mouth, hit Guan Yu with her arm and said:

"Sleep, sleep, sleep quickly! Growth, growth, rapid growth. "

Guan felt his joints ring and his clothes were torn.

The old lady was Guanyin in Nanhai, and she became an old lady to save Guan Yu, leaving the Han Dynasty with 40 years of world. Guanyin in Nanhai gave Guan Yu a green shirt, a red hare and a bronze knife. Therefore, the image of Guan Yu in folklore is: nine feet tall, red-faced, single-eyed, silkworm-browed, stepping off a red rabbit horse, holding a bronze crescent knife, with five strands of beard floating on his chest, combative, and stepping down a hundred steps. Blushing is the result of sorghum rice, and beard is the result of hair. Later, Guan Yu went to Zhou Pu, settled down and waited for an opportunity. Finally, one day, Guan Yu assisted Liu Bei, opened up territory, made meritorious military service repeatedly, and became a world-famous warrior. In memory of Guan Yu, people call the long ditch where Guan Yu fled "escape ditch". Over time, the passage of time has gradually formed a village here. Always ordered people to escape from the ditch, and later changed it to "Taogou" for the sake of listening.

This is a legend, there is no textual research. Now there is Fangkou Village, which was a ferry in ancient times. According to legend, before the Qing Dynasty, a villager named Fan ferried here for a long time, forming a village called Fankou Ferry, which was later called Fangkou Ferry because of its simplicity. There is Beiliuyuan, so it is called Beiliuyuan, because the village is located on the north bank of Guhe River, where willows line up and there are many vegetable gardens in the village. There is Houcang Village, which was a granary in ancient times. Once upon a time, there was a landlord who had a lot of food. Three warehouses have been built here and are guarded. Over time, a village was formed. Because there are three big warehouse, this village is in the north, so it is called Beicang Village. In addition, there are Zhongzangzhuang and Qianzangzhuang, all of which come from this.

To the south of Taogou, there is Liugou in Huigu Town, which is opposite to Hesui River. It is named after the willow on the He Sui River. Taogou and Liugou were places frequented by bandits before liberation, so the locals said, "I'd rather walk around than take Taogou and Liugou." I'm talking about Taogou and Liugou.

After the founding of the People's Republic of China, the Taogou system was reformed many times: 1949, Taogou Township was established by the government, 1958, the township was withdrawn to set up a brigade under the Shi Chun Commune; 19 1 Taogou commune was established, 1980 was changed to brigade, and Taogou commune was restored.
