Background investigation of American immigrants

One step of the immigration process in the United States is the background check of the applicant, and the immigration bureau will conduct a simple investigation on the basic situation of the applicant. American? Background check? Just to ensure that their immigration benefits are only provided to eligible applicants and reduce risks through background checks. Let's take a look at it with the overseas immigration network.

What is a background check?

National Bureau of Investigation (FBI): The FBI provides information to federal agencies, parliaments, federal law departments, foreign police agencies, and national and local crime investigation agencies.

The background information of these individuals is helpful to understand how to apply for a green card or naturalization, work in the White House, register for a law exam and apply for a visa to visit the United States. However, since the end of 20001,the FBI system has been seriously overloaded, resulting in a long delay in the ring back tone in spring and summer of 2002.

Time of background check

The goal of the FBI is to complete the callback within 120 days.

The mantis visa is difficult to solve, because the names of Asians are the same as most visa applications from China.

86-92% of visa applications are completed within 30 days, and 98-99% of visa applications are completed within 120 days. More than 30 days is due to the need to view and track more recorded information. Further investigation of the department may be delayed. Reports from intelligence agencies around the world will be used to help analyze the background tone, so as to determine whether the visa applicant poses a threat to China or aims to illegally acquire our science and technology.

Content of background investigation

According to different kinds of immigration applications, the Immigration Bureau has a set of requirements for their security procedures. Generally includes the following three parts:

Name check of FBI:

The name check of the FBI is something that many applicants have to face. It is completely different from fingerprint inspection. It is a collection of law enforcement agencies, administrative management, criminal offences, personnel departments and other cases. Simple should get an initial response within two weeks. About 80% people easily passed the name check. The remaining 20% will take about six months. At least 1% people are subject to the fact that the name check of the FBI is still pending and it will take more than 6 months. Some of them are too complex and sensitive to be solved quickly. Even if the FBI provides the original reply to the Immigration Bureau, the name check will not be completed until the complete data is obtained and the qualification problem is solved.

Fingerprint testing by FBI;

This check is suitable for many applicants. The examination provided information about the applicant's criminal background in the United States. Generally speaking, the FBI will forward the inspection results directly to the immigration office within 24 hours. If it is found to be the same as that in the fingerprint database of the FBI, the FBI will provide an electronic copy of the applicant's criminal history to the Immigration Bureau. In this case, the immigration officer will decide the impact on the immigration application according to the situation. Although the vast majority of applicants do not have the same fingerprint records in the FBI, 10% of the applicants were found to have criminal history (including violation of immigration regulations). If arrested or sentenced, the Immigration Bureau will ask the applicant to provide evidence of release notarized by the court. If the applicant has a record of being arrested, then the applicant should provide all the information at the time of application, so as to avoid being delayed, revoked or rejected by the immigration bureau because of misunderstanding of the criminal record. Even if the criminal record has been revoked or acquitted, it must be declared when applying for immigration.

Immigration management review system:

IBIS is a joint government organization, including information processing, database and system integration, to form a central government to deal with national security crisis, public security issues and other law enforcement issues. USCIS can quickly confirm from these merged government departments whether all the data in the database have an impact on your immigration case judgment. The test results of IBIS are usually available immediately. In some cases, the information inspection of IBIS may require further investigation. All the questions of IBIS test must be answered from the original system before the results can be obtained.

For the vast majority of applicants, the above procedure allows the Immigration Bureau to quickly decide whether the immigration applicant is related to crime and security issues, and this procedure will not have any impact on most immigration cases. However, due to a large number of security checks conducted by the Immigration Bureau, and each applicant must undergo a thorough screening. So it is inevitable that some people will be delayed or delayed.

Therefore, applicants need not worry. For domestic applicants, it is generally only a matter of time before they successfully pass the background check of the Immigration Bureau and get an immigrant visa.

The process of background check

Embassy officials in various countries review visa types to determine their back adaptation process. There are the following two kinds of visas.

1.Visa Condor (vulture visa) determines whether the individual concerned is from a specific country and meets the conditions for additional review.

2. Visa mantis visa determines whether the relevant individuals will be exposed to the special technology of the United States during their visit to the United States.

Foreign embassy officials submitted requests to the FBI and the the State Council headquarters through optical cables. After that, the inverted name is automatically searched in the FBI Universal Index (UNI).

This process includes investigating whether all information related to names and birthdays appears in the main file names of the FBI (that is, the defendant is the mastermind of other FBI investigations) or in the reference files of the FBI (that is, the defendant appears in other FBI investigations, such as witnesses and criminals). This process also includes investigating names that are similar in spelling to translated names, especially those translated from foreign languages. If the reversed name appears in the FBI database records, right? Found? At this point, you must continue to check the file manually. If you find the inverted name and birthday in the FBI database, right? Bingo? This time is usually easy to solve.

Usually, 85% of ringback tones will automatically return within 72 hours? No record? (That is to say, there is no record matching the transferor in the FBI database). In the agreement with the State Council? No record? Not only does it show that it is not opposed to issuing visas. The in-depth investigation department of the FBI, including the Counter-Terrorism Department, the Counter-Spy Department, the Crime Investigation Department and the Network Department, will not continue to examine the individuals under investigation without matching records.

Repeated survey applications (i.e. individuals with the same spelling and the same date of birth in the past 120 days) will no longer be investigated, and repeated results will be returned to the State Council. Because the name and date of birth are not enough to connect the document with the individual, additional investigation is needed. Auxiliary artificial name detection will confirm that another 10% of the return application cases are unrecorded cases, which is about 95% of the unrecorded cases. This is usually done within 1 week after the ring back tone is put forward. The remaining five ring-back tones are considered as potential FBI records. At this point, the FBI records must be re-examined.

If the investigation department decides not to object to the visa application, the visa application will be returned to the State Council through the reply department of the FBI. If the FBI objects to the visa application, the investigation department will write a safety opinion and submit it to the State Council. In the process of examining visa applications, the FBI will decide who has serious problems and tries to enter the United States.
