The process of applying for a passport and visa online:

1. Log in to the "Government Service Platform of the National Immigration Bureau" to make an appointment (this step is not necessary, and the applicant can omit going directly to the entry and exit hall);

2. After booking online, bring your ID card and the photo receipt (you can also take photos in the entry and exit hall) and go to the appointment place at the appointment time;

3. Take the number and fill in the form;

4. Follow the instructions of the on-site staff, pay the fees and wait for evidence collection.

Procedures required to apply for a passport:

1. Bring my ID card to the entry-exit administration department to collect and fill out the Application Form for China Citizens to Go Abroad for Private Purposes (hereinafter referred to as the "Application Form"). The staff shall inform the licensing conditions and materials to be submitted at one time;

2. Digital photography: according to the requirements of certificate production, the applicant himself will take photos at the digital photography point designated by the accepting organ or the public security bureau;

3. Go to the acceptance window to get the number and queue up;

4. The applicant shall submit the materials at the acceptance window and receive the Receipt;

5. The applicant will print the payment receipt with the Receipt at the processing window;

6. The applicant shall pay in the bank with the payment receipt;

7. The applicant shall present the bank charge receipt and the Receipt to the acceptance window to obtain the certificate.

Legal basis: Article 6 of the Passport Law of the People's Republic of China

When applying for an ordinary passport, a citizen shall submit his/her resident identity card, household registration book, recent bareheaded photos and relevant materials of the application reasons. State functionaries who leave the country to apply for an ordinary passport for reasons specified in Article 5 of this Law shall also submit relevant supporting documents in accordance with relevant state regulations. The exit-entry administrative organ of the public security organ shall issue an ordinary passport within fifteen days from the date of receiving the application materials; If it does not meet the requirements, it shall explain the reasons in writing and inform the applicant of the right to apply for administrative reconsideration or bring an administrative lawsuit according to law. In remote areas or areas with inconvenient transportation or due to special circumstances, passports cannot be issued on schedule, and the issuance time can be extended to 3 days with the approval of the person in charge of the passport issuing organ. If a citizen requests urgent handling due to reasonable emergency, the exit-entry administration organ of the public security organ shall handle it in time.
