How to change a mainland driver's license into a Hong Kong driver's license?

You can find some driver's license agencies or apply for a formal driver's license in person at the Hong Kong Transport Department.

Apply for qualification

(a) It is still valid or valid for not more than three years.

(b) Obtained after successfully completing the relevant driving test in the issuing country or place.

(The above two requirements must be met)

(c) The license was originally issued on any day when you lived in the issuing country or place for not less than six months.

Or have held the license of the recognized country or place for not less than five years immediately before the application.

Or hold a license to issue a passport or equivalent travel document of a country or place.

(One of the requirements must be met)

If you meet the requirements, you can bring the following documents to the Hong Kong Transport Department on the third floor of the Admiralty Unified Center in Hong Kong for formalities:

1. Valid original domestic driver's license.

2。 Original valid "China Passport" or "Hong Kong and Macao Pass".

3. Contact information and mailing address of the applicant (proof of Hong Kong address is required)

4. Completed application form.
