How to immigrate to Thailand?

Thailand strictly controls the immigration to settle in Thailand. Generally, only non-immigrant visas are issued to those who are allowed to enter the country for employment or investment.

The Thai government allows China citizens to immigrate to Thailand 2 times a year. Foreigners who wish to immigrate to Thailand must apply in accordance with the quota regulations and apply at the Thai embassy or consulate before they leave Thailand.

1. relative migration

according to the immigration law of Thailand, China citizens can only apply for immigration to Thailand if they meet one of the following conditions:

(1) spouses and parents (including adoptive parents) of Thai citizens;

(2) Children of Thai citizens (including adopted children);

The documents submitted include: photocopies of ID cards of relatives and friends in Thailand, economic income certificates or property status certificates of relatives and friends in Thailand, especially real estate certificates such as houses, letters from relatives and friends in Thailand, my passport and photos, etc.

Conditions for foreign professionals or scholars to be allowed to stay in Thailand for a long time: (1) A professional or scholar can be granted a residence permit if his major is beneficial to Thailand; (2) The annual minimum income is $1,; (3) Aged 25 or above. The application for long-term residence is limited to professionals who are scarce in Thailand, and the application must be made in Thailand by the relevant Thai institutions that want to hire you. Anyone whose personal knowledge, professional ability and property have reached the level stipulated by the government can apply for permanent residence.

Professionals or scholars who have been granted residence permits can stay in Thailand indefinitely. Family members (spouse, parents and unmarried children under the age of 21) can also obtain residence permits in Thailand. Anyone who has obtained a residence permit must apply for a work permit if he wants to work in Thailand.

4. Investment immigration

Foreigners who invest not less than 1 million baht can obtain permanent residence after approval and consultation by the Ministry of Internal Affairs. During the application period, the applicant may be allowed to stay in Thailand temporarily until the relevant Thai authorities make a decision on his application. The main purpose of granting permanent residence to foreign investors, experts and technicians is to promote foreign investment and the development of science and technology in Thailand.
