Characteristics of Morocco's geographical environment

Morocco is located in the coastal area of northwest Africa, bordering the Atlantic Ocean in the west, the Mediterranean Sea in the north, the European continent across the Strait of Gibraltar, Algeria in the east and Western Sahara in the south.

The longitude of Morocco ranges from about14 W to about 2° W, and it is located in the Eastern Hemisphere. In terms of time zone, the west is between time zone 0 and 1, while Morocco adopts time zone 0. The latitude range of Morocco is about 28 N to 36 N, which is located in the middle and low latitudes of the northern hemisphere.

Morocco enjoys an excellent geographical position, guarding the Strait of Gibraltar, the only channel connecting the Atlantic Ocean and the Mediterranean Sea. Moroccan land area is about 459,000 square kilometers, which is equivalent to the area of Heilongjiang Province in China.

Morocco's topography is complex, with mountains, plateaus and plains. The eastern, central and northern parts of Morocco are the Atlas Mountains, with rugged terrain, the southern part is plateau terrain, and the northwest coast is plain terrain, with a terrain drop as high as 1.700 km.

The population of Morocco is about 35.27 million. Due to the difference between the north and the south of Morocco's natural environment, Morocco's population is mostly distributed in the north, especially in the northwest coastal areas.
