The Three Gorges Project's million-person resettlement project has not ended until today, but the relatively harsh natural environment in the upper reaches of the Yellow River has created the advantage of easy land acquisition and resettlement.

3. Cascade rolling basin development: Longyangxia Power Station, the leading power station in the upper reaches of the Yellow River, was built in the 1980s, with a reservoir capacity of 27.4 billion cubic meters (the world's largest Three Gorges Power Station has a storage capacity of 39.4 billion cubic meters). Such a huge storage capacity provides a unique condition for the rolling development of the downstream power station of Longyangxia Power Station. It can store a large amount of water in the wet season and release water in the dry season to ensure the downstream power station to generate electricity.

4. Geological conditions: There are numerous and deep canyons in the upper reaches of the Yellow River, which is very beneficial to the construction of high-dam and large-capacity power stations.
