About the author of "Long Road is Long"

Rossington Mistry (1952- ), a Canadian writer, was born in Mumbai, India. He immigrated to Canada in 1975. His works depict various aspects of India's socio-economic life, as well as the life, customs and religion of the Parsi people in India, and are full of nostalgia for India. His second novel, "Long Way Down" (1991), won the Governor General's Literary Award that year. His third novel, "Just the Right Balance" (1995), won Canada's most important annual literary award - the Giller Prize, the Los Angeles Times Book Award and the Commonwealth Writers Award, and was shortlisted for the 1996 Booker Prize. In 2001, after the famous Oprah Book Club in the United States promoted the book, the book became a big seller in North America. He has also published a collection of short stories and the novel Family Matters (2002), which was shortlisted for the Booker Prize. His most recent work is the 48-page novel "Scream" (2008).
