Many people don't know much about Eric, except that his name began to appear about three years ago. He is a songwriter who knows how to compose and arrange music. He has a lot of hot works, and vaguely remembers that he used to be a member of the Swing group. In fact, as early as 1999, Eric and Jerald had formed a group-the snowman, the predecessor of Swing. At that time, the two had arranged all the music production in the album. Eric's passion for music, after all, was first promoted by his father. "Fine daddy often plays Boney M and New Diamond songs at home, and often invites friends to party at home, so children have become interested in music since childhood." Under his father's "compulsory education", Eric became more and more interested in music, and even learned the violin, which was a breakthrough for him who was lazy about everything since he was a child.

But Eric has a little secret that he still doesn't know much about reading music. "The tutor who teaches violin is forgetful and often forgets which student he once taught to read music, but I am lazy and never tell him. I only look at the level of' Douchi' by guessing, so I have developed the habit of listening to music with my ears since childhood, which makes my ears very sensitive. " Now he needs to compose music and be a producer, and Eric's understanding of music score is only slightly improved. "With the help of the computer, now he just needs to know how to use the computer software."

Before entering the business

Influenced by his father, Guo Weiliang became interested in music when he was young, and even learned the violin. However, it was not until 13 years old immigrated to the United States with his family that Eric discovered his passion for music and decided to become a musician. Although he lives in America, he is still very concerned about the pop music scene in Hong Kong. At that time, he was disappointed with the low level of pop music in Hong Kong and decided to return to Hong Kong in the future to change the decadent style of Hong Kong music scene with his own works. He spent a lot of time and thought composing music when he was in college in the United States, and many of his works have not been exposed yet. Eric's works in college reached a high standard, such as One Man, A Flower and For the Girl I Loved.

Become famous in the industry

After returning to Hong Kong, Eric joined his father's network. He sent demo to record companies and song copyright companies. After some efforts, he finally got the appreciation of Warner Chapelle, one of the largest song copyright companies in the world, and signed up as a composer.

When Eric made his debut, he used the pen name Moz and the Chinese name Guo Weiliang as the composer's name. His first official work was 1997 Dawn's "If You Are at My Home Tonight". Later, he also composed music for other singers such as Ku Kuiji, Alan Tam and Liang Yongqi, but his work was not chosen as the title song at that time, which made him very disappointed. 1999, his eighth work was finally selected as a Taiwanese song, that is "There is a Man" with Jacky Cheung as the lead singer, which was a turning point in Eric Suen Yiu Wai's music career. Later, Peng Ling's "A Flower", "The Boy I Loved" and Eason Chan's "Happy Ferris Wheel" were also put on the stage and became popular songs. Eric brought three awards at the 1999 All-around Music Awards Ceremony, which pushed Guo Weiliang's career to a peak.

Combination period (1999 to 2002)

Eric often combines composer, arranger and producer. When he made his debut, in order to quickly learn the skills of song producers, Eric decided to be a singer and make his own records, but he didn't want to sing solo at that time, so he and Jerald Chan (Jerald Chen) formed a snowman and became a combination of EMI. 1999, he produced his first EP "Snowman", and the two co-produced the music part, while the vocal music was produced by senior musician Zhong. Eric learned how to be a vocal music producer from him. Since then, the snowman has arranged for the producer of his own record and even started making songs for other singers. The first song is Liang Yongqi's I Like it.

Snowman was transferred to Music Plus under EEG in 2000 and renamed Swing. * * * Four films were released (the last one was a selection) and won many music awards. Swing was dissolved in 2002, and Eric stayed in EEG and retired behind the scenes.

Personal development period (2002-present)

At the end of 2004, Eric released his solo album "Guo Weiliang Collection" as a singer, and won the Silver Award for Singer at the Pop Chart Awards Ceremony in the same year. In 2006, Eric signed a contract with a new record company, Silly Thing, and released his second solo album, Guo Weiliang Cantonese Album, in February of the same year.
