Because of the rampant drug activities in Wa areas, Wa people themselves are facing the pressure of international drug control and drug harm, so they actively adopt alternative planting methods to meet the people's economic sources. The National Democratic Alliance Army in eastern Shan State, commonly known as Mengla Army, is an armed organization in the fourth special zone in eastern Shan State, Myanmar. It was led by the Peace and Unity Committee (formerly known as the Shan State Eastern National Democratic Alliance Party), founded by Wu Zailin (Chinese name is Lin Mingxian), and formerly known as the 8 15 Military Region under the Myanmar People's Liberation Army led by the Myanmar Producers Party.
