Who is Emperor Qianyuan?

Qianyuan (February 758 - Leap April 760) is the reign name of Suzong of the Tang Dynasty, which lasts for three years.

Tang Suzong Li Heng (711-762), originally named Li Sisheng and Li Yu, was the third son of Tang Xuanzong Li Longji and the seventh emperor of the Tang Dynasty (not counting Wu Zetian and Shang Emperor Li Chongmao). Reigned from 756 to 762.

The first title was Zhongwang. In 738 AD, he was established as prince and changed his name to Li Heng. When the Anshi Rebellion broke out, he was appointed by Xuanzong as the general marshal of the world's soldiers and horses, commanding Shuofang and Hedong. Pinglu Jiedushi was responsible for countering the rebellion. When Xuanzong of the Tang Dynasty fled westward, he was left by the people in Maweipo. He separated from Xuanzong and went north to Lingwu.

On July 12, 756 AD, Li Heng ascended the throne in Lingwu and was known as Suzong in history. In June and October of the second year of Zhide (AD 757), Chang'an, the capital, and Luoyang, the eastern capital, were recaptured. Suzong of the Tang Dynasty once made an agreement with the Uighur soldiers: "On the day the city is conquered, the land, scholars and common people will return to the Tang Dynasty, and the gold, silk, and children will all return to the Uighurs." As a result, Luoyang suffered great damage.

Tang Suzong ordered Guo Ziyi, Li Guangbi and others to suppress the history of peace, which brought the Tang Dynasty to danger and revival. After reigning for 7 years, he died in a palace coup in 762 at the age of 51. After the death of Suzong of the Tang Dynasty, the eunuchs Li Fuguo and Cheng Yuanzhen killed Empress Zhang and others, and supported the crown prince Li Yu to the throne. They were the emperors of the Tang Dynasty. Suzong was buried in Jianling (Wujiang Mountain, 18 miles northeast of today's Liquan County, Shaanxi Province).
