Is Guilin a military center?

Guilin has been a strategic place, a military town and a battleground for military strategists since ancient times. Not to mention the Guangxi warlord's lair is in Guilin. At present, Guilin is one of the five joint logistics support centers of China Army. Guilin has a military airport, air force, army and artillery, as well as two military academies (one of which has been opened), which shows Guilin's important military position.

The People's Liberation Army of China plays a special "protective role" in the strategic layout of the garrison city Guilin and the protection mechanism of the Lijiang River. This kind of protection is not conscious or due to the clear legal responsibility, but because of the particularity and special protection status of Guilin garrison, barracks, military facilities and military sites, which objectively prevents the local government and local farmers from reclaiming, developing, constructing and improperly using the land along the Lijiang River and the resulting damage to the ecological environment and natural landscape.
