First, education.

The University of Hong Kong offers Master of Philosophy (MPhil) and 3-year and 4-year doctoral programs. Candidates who do not have a research master's degree will be considered for a four-year doctoral degree, and students with a research master's degree will be considered for a three-year doctoral degree.

If you want to enter HKU's research-oriented courses, you must have an excellent honorary degree from HKU or an equivalent qualification from an equivalent institution. Some degree courses have more specific requirements. In addition, you must take a qualification examination to test the applicant's ability to follow the prescribed courses and interviews.

Second, language.

In addition to Chinese schools, the teaching language of universities is English, Cantonese or Mandarin. All applicants should be able to speak fluent English. Applicants for advanced degree courses in Chinese must also be able to speak and write Chinese fluently.

1, TOEFL (pBT): the total score is above 550, and TWE is above 4 (otherwise required by the National Academy of Buddhism and the Art Academy outside the Buddhist Research Center).

2. TOEFL (iBT): the total score is above 80 points, and the writing part is above 25 points (otherwise required by the National Academy and the Art College outside the Buddhist Research Center).

3. IELTS (academic): the total score is 6.0, and the single item is not less than 5.5 (the IELTS of Buddhism course must reach 7.0).

4. Overseas General Education Certificate (GCE), International General Secondary Education Certificate (IGCSE) or Cambridge English Proficiency Test (CPE) has reached Grade C or above.
