What American pizza fillings can't be found in Italian pizza?
I am an American who takes food seriously. His parents are chefs, and his grandfather is a chef. He has eaten pizza in all 50 American states and all of Italy. We are very grateful to the traditional Italian pizza and the typical American pizza provided by the best pizza shop.
Please allow me to divide this topic into four categories (based on my humble opinion about our family).
Category 1
American pizza ingredients that embarrass us are absolutely atypical in Italy:
1.) pineapple
It makes me sick. Pineapples are baked on a pizza with cheese and sauce. Italians laugh at us for adding such harmful ingredients to their beautiful food. Fortunately, according to a survey of 20 19, it is also the pizza that Americans despise most! But almost every pizza shop provides ingredients for a few customers who may order the product. Pizza was first born in Canada in 1962. Once I accidentally bit a ham and pineapple pizza, which hurt me all my life!
2.) Inferior sausages
Italians do put Salsiccia on their pizza, which is a delicious pork sausage with some bacon slices in it. This kind of high-quality sausage can also be found in pizza shops which are widely praised in America. What we hate is those low-quality things, and those cheap sausages used by take-away pizza franchise stores to cut costs make weeds, which absolutely makes me sick. They can't even be eaten, just like the "chicken" in McDonald's mcnuggets! Sadly, this is the second most popular topping in America.
3.) Chicken
Chicken is not pizza, chopped, buffalo or barbecue. Italy, I'm sorry, Americans began to trade chickens for your wonderful invention! Fortunately, only 6% of Americans claim that chicken is their favorite filling, but I think it is still too much.
4.) Onions
This is the most popular vegetable topping in America. Mushrooms are actually more popular and sometimes wrongly classified as vegetables. But they actually come from the fungi world. Similar to pineapple, I was chewing a thin, cooked, snake-shaped onion and was injured when I cut it into pizza under the pizza. I don't know how they made them grow to six feet tall, but they are all over my pizza. I tried to extract onions, but every bite left a pungent smell. As a gourmet, I like cooking with onions. But keep them away from my pizza! It doesn't belong here. Italians sometimes add onions, but add some onions to cheese so that they won't keep cooked and sticky.
5.) Low quality cheese
Italians traditionally use fresh cheese, which is spherical and cut into beautiful and perfect rings. In America, many pizzerias also use real mozzarella cheese. In fact, I can use fresh cheese or very high quality grated cheese. Cheap things used by pizza chain stores and small pizza shops are simply unacceptable.
Category 2
My family's favorite American pizza stuffing usually doesn't appear in Italy:
1.) Salami sausage
There is nothing better than a good salami, which can be solidified in it and then stacked on pizza! Great! Frank Pepe's pizza place in Connecticut is the best pizza place. This is the best American pizza I have ever eaten! Pepe's family came to America from the Amalfi coast of Italy. Thank god, they opened this great pizza place! Obviously, salami is an Italian product. Some areas in Italy add this sausage to pizza, but we find that other areas can't find stuffing. In any case, Americans usually don't see the texture that Americans are used to on Italian pizza, and it is not one of the top ten most popular toppings in the United States. But pizza gourmets like it, when you eat the pizza made by top Italian immigrants-high-quality salami, it will change your life!
2.bacon
Yes, for Italians, adding soft and delicate smoked American bacon to pancakes is a sacrifice. Now, they are processing the top pizza with spots in Italy, which is a pork product similar to bacon. But it's more like prosciutto than bacon. They also have delicious bacon. But they don't smoke American bacon. As a global traveler and a well-trained chef, I have never thought of "listening to Americans". I will relax for a while and admit that bacon can really make everything better. It is the fourth most popular condiment in America, and I am very satisfied with it. As long as the quality is high.
3.) High quality Italian sausage
Order peperoni pizza in Italy, and the ingredients will be pepper. Order a 2-pound pepperoni pizza in the United States, and you will get the most beautiful pizza among all pizza fillings, which is by far the most popular pizza in the United States. Yes, many Americans are content with cheap and inferior small circles, which have sprung up in some pizza shops in the United States in the form of cured meat. Our family doesn't like that, and neither does any self-respecting Italian family. We like high-quality Italian sausage, such as the Italian sausage produced by Fiacco new york Deli, which was opened by Italian immigrant Eduardo Fiacco at 1900 and is still open today. Now, this is an amazing Italian sausage!
4.) clam
What? Don doesn't belong in pizza! As a traditionalist, this is what I once said. Now, Italians have a great seafood pizza called Frutti di Mare (seafood, only available in Italy). There are usually small-scale fish, mussels and/or squid. But even in Italian villages by the sea, it is difficult to find clam C as toppings. In the northeastern United States, white clam pizza is actually very popular. I think it's ridiculous to add something strange to pizza. But the award-winning letizia changed my mind in Connecticut. The second best pizza I've ever eaten appears on the Internet Top Ten Pizza List. Or I'll never find it! Letizia is just the basic storefront of an unremarkable open-air shopping center. The pizza place was opened by letizia people from Potanza in 1906. However, when I entered the store and decided to try pizza, it surprised me!
5.) Roasted garlic
In some areas, Italians slice garlic and add it to pizza. Surprisingly, contrary to popular belief, garlic is rarely used in Italian dishes. In fact, this is more of an Italian-American tradition. As trained chefs, we add garlic to many things, which always makes the dishes taste better, at least for our taste. Nothing is more beautiful than roasted garlic on pizza, which is the eighth most popular ingredient in America!

We can find our favorite ingredients in America and Italy:
? Basil (Italians and Americans like the incredible taste of pizza)
? Oregano (absolutely necessary)
? Parmigiano-Reggiano (In Italy, the popularity of pizza is far from this, but you can buy it there, which is of course incredible in American pizza. We are talking about the real deal of importing from Italy, not the infamous green canned fake Parmesan cheese.
? Buffalo cheese (so rich, rich and delicious)
? Asiago, Gorgonzola and Grana Padano (Yes, Yes, Yes)
? Beratha (high-quality cheese, a little too creamy for most Americans to add to pizza, but some of our pizza shops like it and we like it, too).
? Artichokes (second in America, but loved by this family)
? Black olives (absolutely delicious, but many Americans refuse this topping)
? Green pepper (sign me up, the perfect crisp in the middle of pizza)

I'm glad we don't use Italian toppings in America:
? Shredded horse meat (Sfilacci di Cavallo? Yes, we don't make horses in America.
? Hot dog (Wurstel? Italians and British people do this, but Americans think it's blasphemy.
? Doudou (Piselli? No, don't make peas on pizza.
? Potatoes (Patate? No, thanks. )
? Panna or marscapone (In the United States, some pizza shops will provide these toppings, but we prefer to spread this cream in cream soup rather than pizza).
