Where is Panda Village?

"Panda Village" is in Shaanxi Province.

"Panda Village" is actually a characteristic area of Foping National Nature Reserve in Shaanxi Province. There is an important protection station in the reserve called Daguping Protection Station. Like Sanguan Temple Protection Station, which is about 13 kilometers away, it is one of the earliest grass-roots protection stations in Foping Nature Reserve with a history of more than 40 years.

1985, teachers and students from Daguping Conservation Station and Biology Department of Peking University rescued a special giant panda, whose body hair was brown and white, which was the first record in the history of scientific research. This giant panda was named "Dandan", which has been recorded in history. Brown giant pandas have been found ten times in four national nature reserves around the reserve, six of which occurred in Foping Reserve, which is also one of the regions with the highest population density and the highest proportion of wild giant pandas in the world.

The history of "Panda Village"

According to historical records, as early as the Han and Wei Dynasties, the famous ancient Luo Road passed through the brass beam area in this area, and many battles between Wei and Shu countries passed through this road. In the seventh year of Tang Wude, Luogu Road was reopened and became a transportation hub connecting Chang 'an with Hanzhong and Chengdu. In order to avoid war, Tang emperors Shi Li and Li Xian traveled to Hanzhong via this route. In the heyday of the Tang Dynasty, Huayang Town set up a county, adjacent to the reserve. According to Hanzhong County Records, "There are bears, leopards, jackals, wolves and so on." "Bears are small, light-haired, shiny, can eat snakes, copper and iron" is the current giant panda.

In the fifth year of Daoguang, Foping Hall was located in the old county town of zhouzhi county. Due to immigration, asylum and other reasons, the population of Foping area has increased sharply, reaching more than 80,000 people in the county at the most, and there are more than 3,000 protected areas with 1 10,000 people. Mainly distributed in Daguping, Sanguan Temple, Yueba, Daping, lawn, Huangtongliang and other places at an altitude of 1200~2600 meters, engaged in land reclamation, poppy cultivation and other production activities.
