Sihe River originated at the west foot of Xintai Taiping Peak in the hinterland of Mengshan Mountain, originally crossed the southwest plain of Shandong Province and entered Jiangsu Province along the present Nansi Lake (Zhaoyang Lake, Nanyang Lake, dushan lake Lake and Weishan Lake). The length of the main stream is 159 km, and the drainage area is 236 1 km2. Sihe River is a mountain torrent river, which is mainly replenished by precipitation and concentrated in flood season, which often leads to floods. After 1949, more than 20 reservoirs such as Hezhuang, Huacun, Longwantao and Nishan1949 were built one after another, and the downstream rivers were dredged, which basically alleviated the water disaster. The basin is rich in coal resources, and Yanzhou coalfield is located in it.

There are 96,000 hectares of cultivated land in Sihe River Basin, mainly planting wheat, corn, soybeans, peanuts and cotton, and the forestry and fruit industry in hilly areas is also very important. Sihe River Basin is a place where ancient Dongyi people live together, and it is also one of the birthplaces of ancient civilization in China. According to records, Fuxi, Shennong, Huangdi, Tang Yao, Yu Shun, Hao Tao and Dayu were all born or lived in Qufu and the upper reaches of Sihe River to its east. Sihe River Basin is also the birthplace of Confucian culture. Five sages of Confucianism, Mozi, Zhongzi and many other sages all grew up and lived in Sihe Valley. Emperor Kangxi and Emperor Qianlong of the Qing Dynasty stationed in Quanlin for ten times, and established two palaces in Quanlin in the north of the county and on the north bank of Sihe River. There are many cultural relics in surabaya county, and nearly 100 ancient sites have been identified.
