After sending DS230I and II forms, photos of American passports, proof of no crime, etc. back to the National Visa Center of the United States, you will receive a notice of file transfer (transfer your file from the United States to the Guangzhou Consulate) in about two or three months, then there will be a background check (3-6 months), a visa interview will be arranged (an appointment letter, a physical examination form and a family resume will be sent to you about one month in advance), and you will get a visa three days after the interview is successful.
