According to historical records and on-the-spot investigation, the Hakkas in Sichuan are mainly distributed in Longquanyi District, chenghua district, qingbaijiang district, Xindu, jinniu district, Jinjiang District, Jintang, Guanghan, Deyang, Shuangliu, Xinjin, Wenjiang, Pixian, Dujiangyan and Shifang in western Sichuan. Jiangyou, Santai, Anxian, Yilong, Yanting, Bazhong, Tongjiang and Guang 'an in northern Sichuan; Neijiang, Longchang, Zizhong, Ziyang, Renshou, Pengshan, Fushun, Weiyuan, Luzhou and Yibin in southern Sichuan, and counties (cities, districts) such as Xichang and Huili under Liangshan Prefecture, especially the eastern suburbs of Chengdu and Longchang in Tuojiang River basin, as well as Yilong and Xichang.

According to incomplete statistics, the current Hakka composition in Sichuan consists of six parts: first, Hakka immigrants from Fujian, Guangdong and Jiangxi in the early Qing Dynasty; Second, during the Anti-Japanese War, Hakka people from Fujian, Guangdong, Guangxi, Jiangxi and Taiwan, mainly in Huizhou, participated in the Anti-Japanese War and moved to Sichuan to avoid persecution by the Japanese aggressors. Third, when New China was founded, the Hakkas among southern cadres settled in Sichuan. Fourth, the Hakkas who have stayed in Sichuan since 1950s to support Sichuan's economic construction; Fifth, visiting college graduates are sent by the state to work and settle in Sichuan; Sixth, overseas Chinese returned to their motherland and settled in Sichuan.

The above six parts are mainly Hakka immigrants in the border areas of Fujian, Guangdong and Jiangxi before the Qing Dynasty. According to the research results of scholars, the Hakka immigrants in Sichuan mainly come from Jiangxi 12 county, Fujian 14 county and Guangdong 12 county, where the Hakka people are most concentrated in China. After these Hakka immigrant families moved to Sichuan, there were nearly 100 counties in Sichuan in Qing Dynasty, including vast plains, mountainous areas and even ethnic minority settlements.

By the end of 1993, there were 46 counties and cities in Sichuan where Hakkas lived, and there were 17 counties and cities where Hakkas lived, totaling 63. The living area of Hakkas is 6.5438+0.83 million square kilometers, accounting for 38% of the province's area. Among them, up to now, the population who can speak Hakka dialect has exceeded 654.38+0.5 million, and the Hakka dialect covers an area of 654.38+0.200 square kilometers. There are 500,000 Hakkas in the eastern suburb of Chengdu only within 500 square kilometers. According to incomplete statistics, the total number of Hakka people in Sichuan is about 3 million.
