The college entrance examination time was determined to be August 15, 16 and 17 every year, and it was used until 1966, which marked the unified enrollment system of colleges and universities in China. It was not until 1966 cancelled the college entrance examination that colleges and universities stopped enrolling students.

1977, after his comeback, Deng Xiaoping personally presided over a symposium attended by 33 famous scientists, professors and heads of science and education departments in China, and resolutely decided to resume the college entrance examination system that had been suspended for 10, and held the college entrance examination on February10/that year, which was the only winter college entrance examination in the history of new China.

Since 1978, the national college entrance examination time has been unified, and it has also changed from winter to summer. The time is from July 20th to 23rd, specifically, politics and physics in the morning of 20th, mathematics and chemistry in the morning of 20th, and Chinese and foreign languages in the afternoon of 22nd.

Online admission was fully realized for the first time in 2002; The examination time in 2003 was advanced to June 7 and 8, which was cooler.
