What is the origin of Gushi County?

Gushi was in the summer, Shang Dynasty was the land of Guo (Guo was in the Guo site in the northeast of Gushi County), and the Western Zhou Dynasty was the land of Guo, Jiang, Huang and Pan. In the middle of the Spring and Autumn Period, Chu destroyed these countries and built counties. Gushi is Pan's hometown, also known as the city. In the Western Han Dynasty, matting county was established in Panxiang (matting). In the second year of Jianwu in the Eastern Han Dynasty (AD 26), Emperor Guangwu Liu Xiu named his sister-in-law thomas lee as the Hou of Gushi, and the county name was changed from bedtime to Gushi. Regarding the name of Gushi County, the Records of Gushi County in Jiajing County of Ming Dynasty recorded: "On the day of historical justice, Sun Shuai took the thin soil and bedding as the fief, and Uncle Li Tongmu gave the fief, so it was renamed Gushi. I press: the name of the county is Japanese. Is it because of the first thing with the emperor that it is strong and initial? " It can be seen that the name of Gushi County means "firm and consistent", which has a history of nearly two thousand years since its introduction. Another allusion has a cloud: "Those who achieve great things must stick to their beginning and be good at their end."

Relations with Fujian and Taiwan

According to the household registration statistics of 1953 in Taiwan Province Province, among the most popular surnames of 100 with more than 500 households at that time, the genealogy of 63 surnames recorded that their ancestors came from "Gwangju Gushi". The number of households with these 63 surnames accounts for 80.9% of the total households in Taiwan Province Province, indicating that four out of every five residents in Taiwan Province Province are from Gushi.

After the Song Dynasty, many people in Fujian talked about their ancestors and said that they moved here from "Gwangju Gushi". During the Ming and Qing Dynasties, many Fujian people moved to Taiwan Province Province. As a result, people in Fujian and Taiwan all recognized the ancestral roots of Gwangju Gushi, and some ancestral temples in Fujian and Taiwan were engraved with "Zongyi Gushi, General and Ze"

According to the "immigration data" about Fujian and Taiwan, there are as many as 16 genealogies of ancestors from Gushi, Henan Province, which are distributed in Jinjiang, Quanzhou, Nan 'an, Anxi, Yongchun, Zhangzhou, Longhai, Xianyou, Changle, Zhao 'an and other places in Fujian. There are 18 genealogies of Chen, Huang, Qiu, Song and Lin in Taiwan Province Province, and their ancestors are recorded as Gushi people in Gwangju.
