Dongping Lake is located in Dongping County, with a total area of 632 square kilometers. After 1950s, on the basis of the original Dongping Lake, it is an important flood diversion project in the lower reaches of the Yellow River to build a dike around the lake to intercept the catastrophic flood of the Yellow River.
