The scope of exemption for Hong Kong residents holding Hong Kong driver's licenses to apply for mainland driver's licenses:

(1) Hong Kong residents who hold official driving licenses for private cars in Hong Kong (1) or above, and whose age, physical condition and other conditions meet the relevant provisions of the Administrative Measures of the People's Republic of China on Motor Vehicle Driving Licenses for the first time, can apply for a mainland small car driving license with a quasi-driving model of C 1 without trial.

(2) Holders of Hong Kong (3) motorcycles or (22) motor tricycles can apply for a mainland motorcycle driver's license with a quasi-driving type of E without trial.

(3) Holders of Hong Kong (1) automatic transmission vehicle driver's licenses (excluding motorcycles and motor tricycles) may apply for 9 small automatic transmission passenger car driver's licenses without verification.
