What are the penalties for staying in Macao for one year?

Staying in Macao for more than one year is already an illegal immigrant according to the relevant regulations of Macao. In this case, you will be deported and banned from re-entering the Macao Special Administrative Region for a certain period of time.

According to article 1 of administrative regulation 2004/2005. 14/20 14 (amending article 32 of administrative regulation no 2006/2007) administrative regulation no 5/2003 as amended by administrative regulation no 5/2003. Law 23/2009 stipulates that those who overstay in the Macao Special Administrative Region for less than 30 days shall be fined MOP 500 yuan for each overdue day; Those who commit another crime within one year or overstay for more than 30 days shall be regarded as illegal immigrants, and shall be deported and prohibited from re-entering the Macao Special Administrative Region within a certain period of time (see relevant laws and regulations for details). Overstaying is not a criminal offence, so it will not be sentenced to deprivation of liberty.

Penalty for overstaying:

1. According to administrative regulation 2004/2005. 14/20 14- "Amending the Regulations on Entry, Stay and Residence Permit". As of July 9, 20 14, those who stay in the Macao Special Administrative Region for less than 30 days after the expiration of the permit period will be fined MOP 500 yuan for each overdue day. The above fine does not apply to those who overstay in Macao within 1 year. Those who fail to pay or apply for a fine are regarded as illegal immigrants, and the Immigration Bureau will not accept their applications for residence permits, extended residence permits or residence permits for foreign workers within two years. ?

2. Those who are considered illegal immigrants according to Law 6/2004 will be deported and prohibited from entering the Macao Special Administrative Region for the period specified in the expulsion order.
