Matters needing attention in applying for permanent residence permit for foreigners:

1. Foreigners who have been granted permanent residence in China shall stay in China for not less than three months each year. If it is really necessary to stay in China for a cumulative period of three months each year, it must be approved by the public security department or bureau of the province, autonomous region or municipality directly under the Central Government where you live for a long time, but the cumulative residence in China within five years shall not be less than one year.

2. The application for permanent residence permit for foreigners is valid for five or ten years.
