Which province does Beihai belong to?

Beihai is a prefecture-level city in Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region.

Beihai City is located in the south of Guangxi, on the east bank of Beibu Gulf, with a north-south span of 1 14 km and an east-west span of 93 km. Qinbei Railway, No.209 and No.325 National Roads pass through the territory, and expressways can directly reach Nanning, Yulin, Zhanjiang and other places, connecting Beihai with Guilin, Chongqing, Chengdu, Guangzhou and other important cities, and constructing a convenient highway passage to the sea in the southwest of China.

Local culture

There are several Chinese dialects in Beihai, mainly Qinzhou dialect, Minnan dialect and Hakka dialect. The local dialect is Lianzhou dialect, a sub-dialect of Cantonese, which is distributed in Lianzhou Town, Dangjiang Town, Shagang Town, Xichang Town, Wu Jia Town, Xingdaohu Town, Shiwan Town, Shikang Town, Changle Town, Gaode Town, Fucheng Town, Yintan Town and Weizhou Town in Beihai City.

Hakka is spoken in Zhakou Town, Guangong Town, Baisha Town and Zhang Qu Town of Hepu County. Seaside dialect is a branch of Minnan dialect, which is popular in shatian town, Hepu County.

As for the Cantonese spoken in Beihai City, Yinhai District, tieshangang district and Shankou Town of Hepu County, namely Beihai Dialect, it is the most official dialect in Beihai today and belongs to the Qinlian language family of Cantonese. Since the reform and opening up, a large number of northern immigrants have merged into Beihai, and Beihai dialect has gradually weakened.
