A certified public accountant refers to a person who has obtained a certificate of certified public accountant and practices in an accounting firm. The English full name is certified public accountant, or CPA for short. Certified public accountant refers to a professional engaged in social audit/intermediary audit/independent audit. Certified Public Accountant (CPA) is the only officially recognized CPA qualification in China, and it is also the only professional qualification with signature right.

As of June 30th, 20 14, the number of individual members of China Institute of Certified Public Accountants has exceeded 200,000.

The Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) was established in 1904. It is the leading professional accountant group in the world at present, and it is also the professional accountant organization with the largest number of overseas students and the fastest growth in student scale. British legislation allows ACCA members to engage in auditing, investment consulting and bankruptcy execution. ACCA membership is recognized by EU legislation and company laws of many countries. The Institute of Chartered Certified Accountants is a founding member of the International Accounting Standards Committee (IASC) and a major member of the International Federation of Accountants. 1In February, 1999, the United Nations adopted the International Outline of Professional Accountant Vocational Education based on ACCA syllabus, which will serve as the benchmark for setting professional accountant examination courses around the world.

ACCA is called "International Certified Public Accountant" in China, which is actually the abbreviation of chartered certified accountants Association. It is one of the four chartered institutes of certified public accountants in Britain and one of the most famous international accounting organizations. ACCA qualification is considered as a "passport in the field of international accounting". Many countries have legislated to allow ACCA members to engage in auditing, investment consulting and bankruptcy execution. ACCA plays a very important role in accounting organizations such as fees, CAPA and ICAC.

ACA Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW) was founded in 1880. It was formed by the merger of six local accounting organizations in London, Liverpool, Manchester and Sheffield. Headquartered in London, England, it has 10 local offices in England and Wales, which are responsible for supporting the work of 22 regional chapters of the Association.
