The river in my hometown

My hometown, Linyang, is surrounded by water. After I left my hometown at the age of sixteen, I seldom went back to my hometown. Instead of being vague, the face of my hometown became clearer and clearer. It gradually condensed into a clear river, which flowed in my heart day and night in every misty morning and starry night. Among the four rivers in the world, I love this insignificant hometown river alone.

Linyang is an alluvial plain, which was a part of Wanquanyang as early as the Three Kingdoms Dongwu period. Dongwu established a shipbuilding base in Wanquanyang-Hengyu Chuantun, which is one of the three major shipbuilding bases in China. By the time I was born, this vast ocean had already completed its great move, leaving only the folk saying that "it sinks down and rises up." Zhang Fang, a local poet in Wenzhou in the Qing Dynasty, did not have a poem: "Qing Chuan is sandwiched between two islands in Hengyang, so it is said from the old generation that ten thousand ships are berthed. I don't believe that Penglai is shallow and shallow, and the sea has changed. " It is about the evolution of my hometown.

The river in my hometown is an artificial canal, which is used for drainage and flood discharge, irrigation of grain fields and waterway transportation. It connects the Ruipingtang River, which was dug in the Eastern Jin Dynasty (385-4) and gradually formed a certain scale in the Southern Song Dynasty. Because of the low terrain, drainage and flood discharge are its main functions.

hometown is known as "Venice in southern Zhejiang", and water is its soul and blood. There are many rivers here, and dozens of large and small rivers go around the town. Residential buildings are built near the river and the city is near the bridge. In the early years, the river was very clear. She watered ten thousand mu of fertile land and raised countless hardworking people, including my ancestors. They were descendants of Jin, Chen, Xie and Kelinyang, or various indigenous villagers who lived and worked here. The ancestors of Lin Yang lived and multiplied on both sides of the river. They lived by water, and a profound context was precipitated. The river gives them the soul to study in the rain, and the river waves breed countless celebrities: Gao Zecheng, the originator of Southern Opera, Jin Mingchang, a famous scholar, Jin Rongxuan, a famous educator in southern Zhejiang, and Ashu, a boxer (his real name is Jin Linlong) ... Even Mr. Wu Xianwen, a paleontologist and academician of the two academies, lived in Linyang for many years. Celebrities on both sides of the river have their own unique foundation. They focus on practical work and can jump away from things themselves, and they have a broad vision of facing the river. Together, they created the prosperity of the town and wrote an epic of talented people, which I am proud of so far.

I grew up by the river. The front door of the old house is a river, and the back door is also a river. Mother often washes clothes at the pier of Qianmen River, and the banging of clothes becomes the most beautiful music. Every time my mother finished pounding clothes, she scattered them into the river. The clothes spread out in the water like a big net. Before sinking into the bottom of the water, she quickly picked them up, rubbed them on the stone steps, rinsed them again, and so on, wringing them out and putting them in a wooden basin. Mother contentedly picked up the wooden basin and walked to her own bamboo pole to dry. The water waves are still rippling, the river pier has changed people, and the sound of hammering rings again, banging, banging, swishing, swishing, and full of rhythm. When I was an adult, I entered the city. Although I installed a large washboard on the balcony, I could no longer wash out the freewheeling and aesthetic feeling of my hometown people at the river pier.

There are rich peonies, dragons and phoenixes, silk quilts with patterns of Yuanyang playing in the water, ceramic tableware wrapped with red wool, and brocade furniture tied with ribbons, which are stacked in a pyramid shape. Those things have good auspicious names, the toilet is called "cornucopia", and there are children's buckets and splendid lattices, which will contain red dates, peanuts, longan and lotus seeds, which bode well for "having a baby early". Although the bride and groom on the boat don't have a crested gown and jacket, and they don't have a wedding dress now, it's easy to tell. There is no doubt that the bride is wearing red. If you are lucky, you will meet the bride throwing candy ashore across the boat, so a pleasant noise of grabbing candy ripples on the river.

half a century ago, there was a bridegroom in the countryside. His family was poor. When he got married, he couldn't afford to rent a boat, so he rowed his own big boat, the river box, to pick up his relatives. I never thought that the bride was determined to marry, but she insisted on jumping into the river, splashing countless waves and egrets flapping their edges around. This loving river nourishes the hardworking and brave couple. When they are free, they catch fish and shrimp, and when they are busy, they carry a boat of watermelons to sell in the river. Where there is a river pier is a shopping mall. After decades, the young couple actually became the richest man in the village.

The river in my hometown is a river of spirituality, like a warm poem, like an affectionate song, like a strong glass of wine, and a magnificent and ups and downs symphony. She is diligent and lazy, she irrigates the land of fish and rice, she breeds a collection of humanities, and she is the cradle of my growth.
