What is the origin of the village name?

The origin of each village name is:

(a) named after the surname

Such as Rudong Gezhuang, Angezhuang and Liugezhuang. There are the most such village names in this area, accounting for about 2/5 of the total number of villages. These villages were built by immigrants in the early Ming Dynasty, and the word "Ge" is actually "home". Because most immigrants come from the south, they read "home" as "ga".

(2) Named after natural features such as topography and landforms.

When the ancestors settled down to build the village, there was a grass moor nearby, and some people used their surnames as village names before the word "Bo", such as Yujiabo, Mojiabo, Yangjiabo, Puzipo and Wumingbo.

(3) named after a character.

Most villages in Fengnan District are named after the first people who moved here to build villages. Such as Zhang Baizhuang, Liu Mulin, Zhang Liangzhuang, Liu Sixin and Zhang Wenzhuang.

(4) Named after historical allusions

Such as Wuxiangzhuang (named after the five "xianggong" of Donggezhuang moved here in the Ming Dynasty), Dingdaizhuang (a company commander went to Beijing in the Wanli period of the Ming Dynasty and changed his clothes and hats here) and Siwangzhuang (formerly known as Siwangzhuang, this village Wang xin made a meritorious military service when the Jin Dynasty attacked the Southern Song Dynasty, and the queen was ordered to change it).

⑤ Named after the ancient military.

For example, (after Emperor Taizong's expedition to Liao, the village was named, and later renamed) and Jiaojun Field (it is said that the Tang Dynasty once worked here, and it was named when it was built in Jiaqing, Qing Dynasty).
