(2) Construction of dark cavern: it is necessary to build arch caves with flaky and cement mortar, and air-raid shelters with good water sources can also be used. The size of the arch hole is determined according to the breeding scale. Generally, the specifications of arch holes are: 3m long, 4.5m wide and 2.5m high.

(3) Feeding pond: The feeding pond of giant salamander should be built in the arch hole. It is best to divide it into two rows, with a sidewalk in the middle and a square or rectangular pool made of bricks. The pool is 1m high, and the periphery and bottom of the pool are smoothed with cement. Pools vary in size, with 2 square meters, 4 square meters, 6 square meters, 1 square meters or more, so as to facilitate separate feeding. Each pool should be provided with a water level hole (or overflow hole, the hole position is 35cm high, which is convenient for drainage and water level control. Water inlet pipes should be installed in each pond, and the pipe diameter depends on the area of the feeding pond. Each water inlet pipe is equipped with a faucet to adjust the water quantity. Movable slate holes are set at the bottom of the pool for the giant salamander to inhabit.

(4) It is necessary to master the feeding management methods: frogs are the main bait in summer and autumn, and mutton is the main bait in winter and spring. The feeding time should be once every morning and evening, and the feeding quantity should be determined according to different seasons and feeding capacity. Every 1kg of giant salamander needs 1.7kg of concentrate. Generally, feed less in winter, increase in spring, and feed more in summer and autumn. It is better to feed fresh and live bait. In addition, management should be strengthened, so as to patrol the pond frequently, observe frequently, check frequently, clean up dirt frequently and wash the pond frequently, find problems in time and deal with them quickly, and treat fish diseases with drugs in time.
