What is the ethnic composition of Central Asia?

All five Central Asian countries are multi-ethnic countries. Among them, Kazakhstan has 130 ethnic groups, Uzbekistan has 129 ethnic groups, and dozens of ethnic groups are rare. In addition to Kazakhs, Uzbeks, Kyrgyz, Turkmen and Tajiks, Russians account for a considerable proportion of the population of Central Asian countries. Despite the massive outflow of Russians after the independence of Central Asian countries, by 1995, they were still the second largest ethnic group in Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Ukraine (their population accounted for 34.8%, 16% and 8% of the total population of these three countries respectively) and the third largest ethnic group in Turkey and Tajikistan (6.7% and 655% of the population respectively).
