The distinction between shops and towns in Huaidian Town

The articles listed above all mentioned that "Huaidian was originally called Huaifang Store", which is the abbreviation of Huaifang Store. However, most of the cultural relics and inscriptions I have seen are "Huaizhen" and "Huaifang Town", which shows that there is a certain difference between "shop" and "town".

In the Nanlishi Garden of Ang Lee Zhuang Village in the northern suburbs, there is a tombstone of the Qing Dynasty, and the inscription reads: "Jingjieda in Hebei moved to Huaifang Town in the early Qing Dynasty". The pagoda in the inscription is "town" rather than "shop".

1992, an inscription of 18 and 10 years in the middle of the Republic of China was unearthed in the former site of the West Mosque on the west side of the office building of the Hui government in Huaidian. This is a monument erected by the Hui people in Malou Village when they were building a temple to avoid bandits in the city. The inscription reads: "Ma Shi He Zugong: Inscription of Malou Mosque in Huaifang Town." Prove that the place name here in the early years of the Republic of China was still "Huaifang Town". After the outbreak of War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression, the Kuomintang bombed Huayuankou, and Huaifang was surrounded by the Yellow River. As a commercial center, Huaifang gradually declined and became a collection store, commonly known as "Huaidian Collection". Coupled with the northward movement of the river bed, the market is constantly collapsing into the river. The township is shrinking to the north year by year, which is less than Yonganmen Bridge in the north moat 1 Huali. From Dongmen Bridge to Xichai River, the east-west street is only 3 Li. After the founding of New China, history brought her back to her proper position and entered a new historical development track.

Tracing back to the source, Huaifang has different names and appellations in different periods. Before the relocation of Ming Xiangcheng, it was called Moling Town, and after the relocation, it was called the old county town and the old urban area. With the arrival of descendants of Hongdong immigrants, it was renamed Huaifangji, Huaifangdian, Huaizhen, Huaifangzhen and Huaidian Town. Hui people live outside Dongguan, east of Sijianjing. In order to take care of ethnic minorities, 1983 was changed to today's Huaidian Hui Town. ① ⑦ Shenqiu County Records Henan People's Publishing House, 1987, p. 64, p. 1 17, p. 18.
