In the early years of Xining in Song Shenzong, Wang Anshi became prime minister and began to reform. At that time, Shen Kuo was an active advocate of the new law. 1073, Wang Anshi ordered him to go to Zhejiang to inspect the implementation of the new law. After he returned to Beijing, he spoke highly of the new law. A few years later, Wang Anshi went on strike. Seeing that the limelight was wrong, Shen Kuo secretly wrote and listed the disadvantages of Wang Anshi's new law. Song Shenzong was very dissatisfied with him when he found out. Just as the suggestion impeached him, Zongshen ordered him to be removed from his post as a Hanlin bachelor and reduced to Xuanzhou.

Isn't it shameful to find someone to intercede? " So he went to work-painting murals. Soon, the county magistrate went to Beijing to report on his work, and many people asked him about Mr. Shen. The sheriff hurried to find an acquaintance, and only after asking did he know that "Mr. Shen" was a painter in service.

Shenzhou is famous for painting landscapes. In his early years, he inherited family studies, studied under his father Shen Hengji and uncle Shen, and then under Dong Yuan. After forty years old, with Huang as the ancestor, his works were greatly expanded; In his later years, Shen Zhou was fascinated by Zhenwu, and his pen and ink became more depressed and mature.
