What country is KOS?

Kos is the Republic of Kosovo.

Located in the Balkan Peninsula in southeastern Europe, the largest city is the capital Pristina. Serbia in the east and north, Macedonia in the south, Albania in the southwest and Montenegro in the northwest. More than 90% of the population groups are Albanians, distributed in most parts of Kosovo, and other ethnic minorities are mainly Serbs and Montenegrins.

Kosovo has a long history. According to the research of Croatian historian Aleksandr Sti Pacevic, more than 40 militant nomadic tribes lived in Kosovo at the earliest. They are the ancestors of Albanians and lived in Kosovo from the 4th to 5th century. From the end of the 6th century to the beginning of the 7th century, a large number of Slavic immigrants crossed the Danube and settled in the Balkans. They built castles and churches, reclaimed wasteland, and drove Ili people who were engaged in grazing to hilly areas.

In the 9th century, Yugoslav Serbs established their own country. At that time, geopolitics believed that ruling Kosovo was ruling the Balkans, which showed the importance of Kosovo's geographical location.
