Can I go abroad without a visa?

Legal analysis: You can go to visa-free countries.

As of January 2017, there are 60 countries (regions) in China that offer visa-free or visa-on-arrival policies to Chinese citizens holding ordinary passports.

Unilateral list of countries or regions that allow Chinese citizens to enter visa-free (14)

1. Asia (4): United Arab Emirates, Indonesia, South Korea (Jeju Island and other places), Kata[8]

2. Africa (2): Morocco, French Reunion

3. America (7): Antigua and Barbuda, Haiti, South Georgia and the South Sandwich Islands (British Overseas Territory), Saint Kitts and Nevis, Turks and Caicos Islands (British Overseas Territory), Jamaica, Dominica

4, Oceania (3): U.S. Northern Mariana Islands (Saipan, etc.), Samoa, French Polynesia

Legal basis: "Exit and Entry Administration Law of the People's Republic of China" No. 9 Article 1 Chinese citizens leaving and entering the country shall apply for passports or other travel documents in accordance with the law.

Chinese citizens traveling to other countries or regions also need to obtain a visa or other entry permit for the country of destination. However, this does not apply unless the Chinese government has signed a mutual visa exemption agreement with the governments of other countries or if the Ministry of Public Security or the Ministry of Foreign Affairs provides otherwise.

Chinese citizens who enter or exit the country as seafarers or work on foreign ships must apply for a seafarer's certificate in accordance with the law.
