Brief introduction of Sanhe Jiangkou Hydropower Station

The installed capacity of Jiangkoushui Power Plant is 4× 10MW, and the average power generation for many years is nearly 1 100 million kWh. Jiangkou Water Control Project is located in Jiangkou Village, the middle and lower reaches of Yuanhe River, a tributary of Ganjiang River. Commencement in August 1958. The main dam is a roller compacted homogeneous earth dam, with a crest height of 78.36m, a maximum crest height of 33.36m, a dam length of 467m and a dam width of 10.5m, with eight auxiliary dams and two spillways. Jiangkou Reservoir is designed as an incomplete annual regulation reservoir. The main architectural design standard is Grade II. The dam site controls the drainage area of 3,900 square kilometers and the normal water level is 72 meters (Wusong base). The designed total storage capacity is 890 million cubic meters, the dead water level is 65.7 meters, and the designed water head is 19.5 meters. Due to immigration, railway and other reasons, the actual control operating water level is 69.5 meters.

Jiangkou Reservoir is a large-scale water control project with power generation as its main function and comprehensive utilization of flood control, irrigation, shipping and tourism. Jiangkou Reservoir has been cut by an average of about 50% in flood season for many years, which has made positive contributions to reducing the flood disaster and people's lives and property losses in Xinyu City and the lower reaches of Yuanshui River.
