Brief introduction of Chaihu town

Chaihu Town of Zhongxiang City is located in Jianghan Plain, on the Hanjiang River in the northwest of Zhongxiang City, Hubei Province. Founded in 1968, it is the largest reservoir resettlement area in China. Chaihu Town enjoys a superior geographical position, with the foothills of Dahongshan Mountain in the east, Hanjiang River, the largest tributary of the Yangtze River in the west, Jingzhou, a famous historical city in the south, and the Ming Tombs, the world cultural heritage and the largest single tomb in China, in the north. Now it has jurisdiction over 54 administrative villages with a population of 10.5 million and a land area of 225 square kilometers. Chaihu Town was officially renamed Dachaihu Economic Development Zone, Jingmen City, Hubei Province on February 14.
