After oil stains and other substances are surrounded by soap molecules and water molecules, the adhesion to clothing fibers decreases. Once cleaned, soap liquid permeates into different amounts of air and produces a lot of foam. There seems to be a layer of tension film on the surface of foam, which not only expands the surface area of soap solution, but also makes soap solution more contractible, usually called surface tension. Under the action of surface tension, oil stains, dust and other particles on clothes are easily separated from clothes and go with water. This is the secret that soap can decontaminate.
