Is the first Mars simulation base in China settled in Qinghai?
It is reported that on July 25th, the overall scheme seminar and agreement signing ceremony of China Mars Village (simulated Mars base) was held in Delingha, Haixi Prefecture, Qinghai Province, marking the official landing of China's first Mars simulation base in the Hongya area of Dachaidan, Haixi Prefecture.
Haixi Mongolian and Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture (hereinafter referred to as "Haixi Prefecture") is located in the hinterland of the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau, and the main body of the state is the Qaidam Basin, which is known as the "cornucopia" of China.
Wang Jingzhai, deputy secretary of Haixi Prefecture Committee of Qinghai Province, said that Haixi Prefecture has diverse geographical forms and magnificent natural scenery, with mountains, grasslands, Gobi, deserts, rivers and lakes. The desertification area in the state is 95, square kilometers, accounting for 75.6% of the total desert area in Qinghai Province. The vast Gobi desert is endless and has the largest and most typical Yadan landform group in China. The unique topography, natural scenery and climatic conditions are very similar to the surface of Mars. In addition, the good location conditions, rich tourism resources and strong tourism development trend in the West Coast of the Yangtze River have created basic conditions and provided strong support for the implementation of the Mars simulation base project.
Liu Xiaoqun, director of the General Department of Lunar and Deep Space Exploration of China Academy of Sciences, said that the Mars Village project in China is located in the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau, adjacent to the historical and cultural and tourist hotspots in Hexi Corridor. Its unique Mars theme and special content, especially high-end leisure experiences, complement the regular tourist hotspots, and fill the gap in the integrated scientific practice education base in aerospace, astronomy, geography, geology, meteorology, new energy and other fields in China, and will surely become a new growth point for the sustainable development of the tourism culture industry where the project is located.
The China Mars Simulation Base project aims to create a creative experience base of Mars cultural tourism with "science+science fiction+nature+ecology+culture". In design, it is planned to adopt the spatial layout of "one village and two areas, which are invisible to each other, connected by natural roads and effectively integrated with the surrounding natural landscape", that is, the main part of the project consists of two functional areas: "Mars community" and "Mars camp".
The first Mars simulation base in China officially landed in Hongya, Dachaidan, Haixi, which has a great impact on the development of science education and tourism culture in China.
