Is it expensive for mainlanders to go to university in Hong Kong?

The University of Hong Kong plans to recruit 60 to 70 undergraduate students in the mainland every year, but this year it will only recruit 30 students. In principle, admission to the University of Hong Kong is based on the undergraduate admissions lines of key mainland universities. In addition, candidates will also be interviewed and given oral examinations. Except for dentistry and medicine, all other majors are open to mainland students. Due to the different academic systems of Hong Kong and Mainland universities, admitted students will study at a designated Mainland university for one year and then complete another three years at the University of Hong Kong. The tuition fee for mainland students is the same as that for Hong Kong students, which is HKD 42,100 per person per year.
