Do I have to have a bachelor of law degree to apply for LLM?

I will answer this question by country:

United States: JD is an American degree and there is no undergraduate law program in the United States.

If you are qualified as a lawyer and have some practical experience (without practical experience, a simple qualification certificate is difficult to be recognized), science and engineering students can go to Intellectual Property or other schools to study LLM, such as the University of Houston. Note: Your grades must be good enough.

UK: LLM in the UK generally requires that it must be in French. There is also a master's degree in Britain. The 2-year master's degree is designed for students with illegal background. Only a few schools in Bristol, Sheffield and Queens Mary have this degree. MA degree is a qualification degree, and you can take a local license after reading it. This kind of MA has no advantage in returning to China, and is considered to be the same as LLM, but it is still very recognized abroad.

If you are qualified as a lawyer and have practical experience, you can study intellectual property LLM.

In view of your situation, if you want to enter the business, I suggest you take the domestic lawyer's license first and choose the MA in the UK, which is the normal route.

Australia: JD, if you have more money or plan to immigrate, you can study. LLM also needs a legal background.
