Can I apply for caesarean section when I give birth in New Zealand?

In a public hospital, no, no.

Public hospitals are free, which means that the government pays all the expenses. The government's money comes from taxpayers, and the cost of surgery is extremely high. The government has no right to use taxpayers' money to pay this expensive fee because of personal preference.

However, due to life-threatening/health reasons, regardless of the mother and the baby, the operation will naturally be arranged, and everything will be decided by the midwife and the doctor at the time of labor.

The cause of the operation and the examination results need to be reviewed, and will also be filed with the surgeon and anesthesiologist. Surgeons and anesthesiologists are not necessarily doctors in our hospital or New Zealand. When they are too busy, they will ask Australia to send a doctor. Similarly, Australia will often ask doctors from New Zealand to "help" in the past, and doctors will first (check) the "medical records" from pregnancy.

Private hospitals are two different things. You pay for it yourself, depending on whether there is a caesarean section.
