In Sichuan, there has always been a saying that "Zhang kills people and Zhang eats people", mainly because Zhang was active in Sichuan at that time and even slaughtered people in an abnormal way. It is said that Zhang actually enjoys killing people, not only killing, but also eating.

In the seventh year of Chongzhen, Zhang Dajun entered Shu from Chu, captured Kuifu and Jianzhou, and then began to slaughter Bazhou and Tongjiang. 1635, Zhang led the army to kill Fengyang, Anhui Province, and reached Luzhou City, Sichuan Province. He kills everyone he sees, and it seems that his purpose is to kill people. Different targets use different methods of killing.

At that time, as long as Zhang's army captured the ideal city, a large number of women and girls would be treated as prostitutes, and the rest would be killed. When the army was defeated, the soldiers went hungry for lack of food. The cruelty of Zhang's means reached an unimaginable level, and even killed the woman and fed it to the military and horses for pickling. In a word, this is the cannibalism of the murderer Zhang He in the history of our country, leaving a scar in the hearts of Sichuan people that can never be erased.

Why did Zhang slaughter Sichuan?

At present, the main body of Sichuan people has changed a lot. They are no longer aborigines, and there are many immigrants. However, the shadow of Zhang Sichuan massacre still haunts the hearts of Sichuan people. Then why did Zhang slaughter Sichuan? Many people can't understand this. Is it really a whim that he killed for no reason?

Regarding Zhang's Sichuan Massacre, Lu Xun expressed his view that Zhang tried every means to destroy Li Zicheng's throne in order to claim the throne. Zhang believes that no one can become an emperor by killing everyone. Of course, this is only Lu Xun's own opinion. Whether it is true or not, there is no reliable historical record at present.

However, there are countless folklore. For example, when Zhang led the army into Sichuan for the first time, he was defeated by Qin Liangyu, a female general of the Ming Dynasty, leaving a humiliating hatred in his heart. So when he pushed into Sichuan again, he took crazy revenge on the Sichuanese. For example, when Zhang was a child, he went to Sichuan with his father to sell dates. After arriving at the destination, the father and son tied the donkey in front of a family. When they came back, they happened to meet a domestic slave of a large family beating a donkey. Zhang's father apologized at once, but the slaves forced them to wipe off donkey dung and urine on the ground. It is said that this shameful thing planted the seeds of hatred in Zhang's young mind, which led to Zhang's inhuman killing of Sichuan.

Of course, you can't believe all the folklore. If Zhang had planned to retaliate against Sichuanese early in the morning, there would be no need to set the capital in Chengdu. His crazy behavior, or just a catharsis when he faced failure. No matter what the truth is, there are indications that Zhang does have psychological barriers.

Zhang Descendants

In the history of China, Zhang was a famous murderer, mostly killing ordinary people, and his cruelty was chilling. Although Zhang was the leader of the peasant revolutionary army, he accelerated the change of dynasties and promoted social progress to a certain extent, but his inhuman slaughter of ordinary people was unforgivable. Then, will Zhang's descendants be treated differently by the world?

Zhang didn't realize that he was a human being when he killed people, and even used various means of killing for fun, which was simply an anti-human behavior.
