Conducted emission, radiation emission, conduction sensitivity, radiation sensitivity, electrostatic discharge, power surge, electromagnetic pulse detection, wave-absorbing characteristics of filtering and shielding, and electromagnetic environment tests are carried out on various military and civil electronic and electrical products, and electromagnetic compatibility tests can also be undertaken for internal and external fields of large-scale systems. The center has tested and appraised the electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) of electronic and electrical products produced by the Ministry of Aviation, the Ministry of Aerospace and the Ministry of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering, and tested and studied the EMC of many civilian products such as televisions, radios, communication and information equipment and motor vehicles.

The center has passed the metrological certification of the State Bureau of Technical Supervision, has the national legal qualification of EMC detection supervision and authorization, and has been authorized by the Sichuan Provincial Bureau of Technical Supervision as the qualification of EMC detection arbitration, and has become the designated station of EMC identification and detection of the Provincial Quality Inspection Institute. The center has 1 senior engineers, 5 senior engineers, 1 national EMC auditors, 3 graduate students and 5 undergraduates. Long-term cooperation with Electronic Science and Technology University, Xigong University, China Southern Airlines, Beihang University and other institutions to study EMC topics. In the past 20 years, the center has conducted thousands of EMC tests on equipment and subsystems and dozens of large-scale system tests.
