Zhang Wanting's Early Experience

After graduating from the psychology department of HKU, Zhang Wanting went to Bristol University to study drama and literature. In fact, Zhang Wanting never wanted to be a film director. When he was studying in Britain, the BBC wanted to make a documentary about Hong Kong and needed a Hong Kong translator. Zhang Wanting took the exam and became their assistant. At this time, I found that to be a director, I have to know a lot. I admire it. In addition, Zhang Wanting is most afraid of the "nine to five" office life. At this time, he found that he didn't have to be a director, so he had the idea of developing into a director. During the period of 1978- 1980, Zhang Wanting was the director of Hong Kong Radio and Television Station, and participated in the production of children's programs "Banana Boat" and "Under the Lion Mountain" urban life series TV series. From 198 1 to 1984, I studied for a master's degree in film at new york University in the United States, during which I shot a lot of 16 mm materials and conceived the story of the immigration trilogy.
