French and Roman immigrants

Here I will briefly talk about some immigration policies after the formation of the Roman Empire.

After Rome conquered the Italian peninsula in the 3rd century BC, an Italian League with Rome as its ally was established. Within the alliance, Rome granted different degrees of autonomy according to the specific conditions of conquered city-states and tribes, thus forming various autonomous communes with different legal status:

(1) the Roman citizens' commune or voting commune. Its citizens enjoy full Roman citizenship.

(2) Commune citizens who have no right to vote have the right to marry Roman citizens and obtain movable property in Rome, while maintaining the original rights of the commune, but they have no right to vote in the Roman parliament and be elected as Roman officials.

(3) Latin colonies, its citizens enjoy Latin citizenship, if settled in Rome, you can get full Roman citizenship.

(4) Allies (some cities in south-central Italy). It is a city that joined the Italian Union in the form of concluding a treaty with Rome and retained its internal autonomy.

In a word, the system of ancient Rome still belongs to slavery. Basically, according to the order of military invasion and colonization, colonial land, slaves and power were distributed to soldiers, nobles and early Roman citizens. The racial hierarchy of the Roman Empire was very similar to that of the Yuan Dynasty, and it adopted a strict policy towards the unconquerable nations.
