Based on my understanding of Australia's topography, climate, rivers and biological communities, this paper briefly analyzes the natural reasons for the development of Australian sheep industry.

Australia has a flat terrain, with tropical grassland climate and tropical desert climate in the interior, less precipitation, fewer rivers and less water resources, which is not suitable for agriculture and suitable for animal husbandry. Most of Australia's creatures are endemic, with few carnivores, and most Australians are descendants of European immigrants and like to eat dairy products, so Australia has developed a sheep industry.
