Notes on tuberculosis physical examination report for studying in the UK

Students who are preparing to study in the UK should not ignore another important matter while preparing their own more important materials: tuberculosis testing. The British Immigration Service stipulates that all Chinese citizens who need to stay in the UK for more than 6 months must submit their own tuberculosis medical examination report, so the following are 10 important points selected by 86 for everyone:

1 , Testing objects

Starting from December 31, 2013, if you are a Chinese resident and intend to apply to stay in the UK for more than 6 months, you must undergo a tuberculosis test at a designated testing agency to ensure that you are not infected Only those with tuberculosis can apply for a visa.

If you plan to visit the UK for less than 6 months, you do not need to take a tuberculosis test unless you apply for a 6-month fiancé(e) visa.

2. Designated testing agency

You must go to any testing agency designated by the British Home Office for testing. Testing certificates issued by non-designated testing agencies will not be accepted.

3. Testing process

You need to contact any designated testing agency to make an appointment and explain to the doctor that the test is used to apply for a British visa. Your appointment request will generally be approved within a few days.

4. Test items

You need to do a chest X-ray test. You may need to take off your shirt during the breast X-ray, and we will provide you with a coat to protect you.

5. Information required for testing

Identity certificate including personal photo, such as personal passport, etc.

Tuberculosis testing costs.

If you have been infected with tuberculosis or other lung diseases before, you need to submit proof of previous screenings and, if possible, previous diagnostic reports and X-ray test reports.

If you need to make an appointment with a female doctor, please inform the testing agency when making the appointment.

If you need to cancel your appointment, please contact the relevant testing agency and follow its regulations and procedures.

6. Testing fee

The cost of chest X-ray is RMB 550. This fee does not include tuberculosis treatment costs.

7. Test results

If you have a standard test and your chest X-ray is normal, there is no need for further tuberculosis testing. You will get the test results and certificate soon. If the test results are inconclusive, you will need to undergo further testing on a sputum sample. The test takes two months to get results. If the test results show that you are not infected with tuberculosis, you will receive a certificate that needs to be submitted with your visa application. This certificate is valid for 6 months.

If the test results show that you have tuberculosis, you cannot get a certificate. The doctor will provide you with relevant treatment suggestions and treatment plans. Treatment takes approximately 6 months, during which time you will not be able to apply for a UK visa unless you can prove that you have completed treatment and are cured.
