Which nationality do Lijiang aborigines belong to?

Lijiang was originally a county and was established as a regional city in 2002. The residents are mainly Naxi.

According to Fang Guoyu, a historian, the Naxi nationality in Lijiang originated from the Qiang people who moved southward from Hehuang area in northwest China in ancient times, and moved to the Dadu River and Yalong River valley in Qin and Han Dynasties, that is, today's Yanyuan, Muli and Yanbian areas in Sichuan, and then moved westward to Yongning, Bai Di in Zhongdian, Feng Ke and Daju in Lijiang, and then moved westward to Lijiang Dam. The ethnic origin of Naxi nationality belongs to a branch of the ancient Qiang people who moved southward.
