How did the ancient Dian people go to Sumatra?

After being defeated by the Han Dynasty, the ancient Dian people fled all the way south, from Vietnam to Cambodia, and then to Sumatra, becoming the present Badak people.

Even many European archaeologists have discovered bronzes from Vietnam, Cambodia and Laos similar to those unearthed in Shizhai Mountain, Yunnan.
