202 1 Introduction to the Conditions and Procedures for Studying in Sweden
Application conditions
1. The applicant has a bachelor's degree certificate.
In actual application, not all Swedish schools require international students to provide degree certificates, and some schools are also willing to accept applications from senior students, such as the Royal Swedish Institute of Technology and chalmers university of technology, Sweden.
2. The postgraduate major that Swedish students apply for must be the same as the undergraduate major.
Sweden is not allowed to change majors. Almost all Swedish schools require international students to apply for this major. If international students have two degrees in university, they can apply for any major.
3. Swedish students need to have high IELTS or TOEFL scores.
I don't need to repeat this. You should know the basic language requirements of Swedish universities by yourself.
4. Most Swedish universities have no hard and fast rules on the Swedish language of applicants.
Although Swedish is rarely explicitly stipulated in the admission standards of schools, because many Swedish universities teach in Swedish or hold lectures and seminars in Swedish, if foreign students know nothing about Swedish, it will have a certain impact on their study. It is suggested that international students who are interested in going to Sweden take some Swedish courses and have a basic understanding of Swedish.
In addition to the above conditions, Swedish universities will also examine the applicant's comprehensive quality to judge whether he has the conditions and potential to study in Sweden.
Application process
1, determine the course.
The first step in applying for a master's degree course is to choose the course that best meets your requirements. You can search our course database, which contains more than 600 master's courses (and 35 undergraduate courses) taught in English.
2. Formal application
Once you have determined the courses you want to enroll in, you can follow the application prompts on the center service website to proceed to the next step. You can apply for a master's degree in four different Swedish universities at a time.
Each course has a special application number, and you must use this application number in the application process to ensure the accuracy of applying for the course. You can find the number of each course in the course introduction on the center service website or the homepage of the university website.
Please note that if you are not a citizen of the EU, EEA or Switzerland, you need to pay an application fee of 900 SEK.
The deadline for application may change, but the deadline for applying for the second-year autumn course is generally in the middle of June 5438+the second year 10. The deadline for applying for the second-year spring course is usually in mid-August this year.
Individual courses will have different application deadlines and application procedures. In addition, some courses have special entrance requirements that applicants need to meet. In this case, the application procedure should be explained in the course introduction on the university website.
At the same time, you can also consider applying for scholarships.
Step 3 wait for the admission notice
After the deadline, colleges and universities will screen all application materials including you according to different criteria, such as the degree level obtained, the results of previous courses, and the research topics of the degree. All the above factors will affect the application result.
Colleges and universities decide for themselves whether to admit applicants.
If you are accepted, you need to confirm that you will attend the course you applied for.
If you are not a citizen of the European Union, European economies or Switzerland, you also need to pay the tuition for the first academic year.
Step 4 apply for a residence permit
As it may take a long time to apply for a residence permit, you should do it as soon as possible after receiving the admission notice!
Generally speaking, to apply for a residence permit for study reasons, you need to provide the following certificates:
Has been admitted to a full-time course (if you are not a citizen of the European Union, European economies or Switzerland, it also means that you have paid the tuition for the first academic year).
I can solve my financial problems during my study abroad (I must prove that I can pay SEK 7300 pounds a month or the same amount during my stay in Sweden).
You can find the relevant information and application form for applying for residence permit at the Swedish Immigration Bureau.
